Zurich Classic runs streak to 4

There is now an official aura for the Zurich Classic--a place to stake your flag as a first-time winner on the PGA Tour. After Andres Romero charged with a 68 on the last day to eek a 1 shot victory over Australian Peter Lonard, the Zurich had its fourth straight first time winner.

Romero, who had a 65 in the rain-shortened third round and trailed the leader by 1 shot after all was said and done, and played solid golf throughout the last round to earn him the over 1 million dollar purse. For Lonard, although he didn't end up winning the tournament, his second place finish propelled him to #50 in the world, which should give him a place in the Masters, which is pretty much the real reason why players enter this tournament due to the timing of one of the most prestigious events on the tour in Augusta.

That kind of pressure to get into the Masters was not the same for Romero, who had already qualified with his third-place finish last summer in the British Open, a result that helped him earn a 2008 PGA Tour card. This was a great tournament overall--very tight--with good golf, and although some of the bigger names weren't near the top, it was still excellent golf overall.
