Wyndham Championship Field Looking Lean

You would think the draw of being the last week before the FedEx championships and the ability to draw some big points would be enough--but evidently it isn't. Not even the course's redesigner and defending champion (Davis Love III) is going to be at the Wyndham Championship--amongst other no-shows.

Bubba Watson is out for medical reasons. KJ Choi, Chris DiMarco and Boo Weekley are skipping the event to rest for the FedEx. What you have left are "bubble" players for the most part struggling to make the FedEx field--guys like Lucas Glover.

Glover stated that he thinks many guys aren't playing because they either don't like the course or have never played here before--either way, it's not good for sponsors who tried to move the event and give it a classier name to get those "name" players--it appears to have backfired. However, this year should be the exception--my gut tells me that players will recognize this need when the FedEx gets shaked up a little and players realize what it could mean to them in the future.
