Thick Fog doesn't stop 4 from leading US Amateur

Fog and golf usually are a terrible combination--first of all, because you're hitting something about 300 yards (well, the pros are anyway) and you're usually trying to pinpoint that distance. Still, even with this caveat, 4 players shot a 2 under 68 at the US Amateur in San Francisco to kick off the tourney.

The thick fog delayed the start almost 4 hours, which will more than likely put a huge crimp in the scheduling of the tourney's next days. Not all players will have likely completed the first two rounds by Tuesday night and will have to finish Wednesday morning, when match play is set to begin.

The site of the even is at Olympic Club in San Fran, where this is the third time the Amateur has been held there. While I am sure that all of the players that did well despite the weather are smiling, you can be sure that the schedule makers aren't.
