It was all Weir and Watney. Everyone was talking about what may happen in the showdown between Mike Weir and Nick Watney (including me!), but that did not materialize--what happened was even more dramatic.
Riding a sparkling 9 under in the final round, Steve Stricker went into the clubhouse on cloud nine. Enter Daniel Chopra, who had been in the top 10 the entire tournament, who then came out sizzling with his putter, taking a seven under into a playoff, where he ultimately took out Stricker.
What a great start to the 2008 year. Not only did it pit champions against champions on a great course again, but every round offered something different, and Chopra's great win should send off the PGA Tour on a wonderful note. I already have seen a ton of commercials for the Masters, and they may not have to wait until then to get some good ratings.
