Snedeker nabs Wyndham, now seeded ninth in FedEx

So, the big boys decided to stay home from the Wyndham. For all Brandt Snedeker cares, they can stay there. Snedeker's 10 birdies in the final round of the Wyndham Championship at Forest Oaks propelled him to victory in North Carolina, and at the same time shot him up to the 9th seed in next week's FedEx Cup.

Snedeker leapfrogged from 17th to 9th, a jump that could prove to be very timely with the grueling match play format the FedEx Cup presents. He even noted that guys that were in the higher ranks of the Cup could have used this to really jump ahead in the standings, even though it's impossible to tell what type of impact this will have, combined with the fact that Tiger Woods has decided to take time off and not play in the Cup, a huge blow to sponsors and the tour alike, although tour vets have supported his move.

Snedeker finished two strokes ahead of a logjam in second place of Tim Petrovic, Jeff Overton, and Billy Mayfair. The high temperatures helped make the tournament a low scoring event, and it came down to the last final holes to determine a winner, just like every tournament should be. Kudos, guys, and good luck in the FedEx!
