PGA Pros fearing fatigue

Woody Austin has said that, "Obviously, when the Presidents Cup comes -- or at the end of the FedEx Cup -- I'm going to be tired" and Tiger Woods has said that he needs to take the FedEx Cup off because of his body needing a break. So why is it that when people argue that golfers are indeed athletes are these things taken into consideration?

Baseball players go from March until October--162 games. Sure, they may get benched for a few games here and there because their manager takes them out, but they sure as heck don't say "I'm tired." Basketball players go from November until June--82 games plus playoffs if they're lucky--and while they may be again taken out for a limited amount of time during a game, they don't say "I'm tired, I'm not playing." and take a game off...Football players go a gut-wrenching 16 games plus playoffs, and if one of them ever said "I'm tired, I am not playing", they would probably be beaten to a bloody pulp.

My point is this--I know that golf can be grueling, there's no doubt about it. But--come on guys, I mean this is the pinnacle of your career--and you're going to tell me that you are just going to skip these events because you fear being tired? Or that you need a break? Ummm...ok, that's your prerogative, but when people start up that argument, remember these actions and your brothers in different uniforms. I think it's a slap in the face to golf fans.
