Ouch! Mickelson's Back nine at PGA proves painful

The questions were abound for Phil Mickelson. How would his wrist injury affect his game? Would he be able to challenge the group of upstarts? Would it make him better? Would it make a difference because Tiger Woods has been playing so well (again)?

From the look of things, there are still more questions after the first round of the PGA Championship. Mickelson shot a paltry 73 in the opening round, looking like he was basically all over the place on the back nine. Finding everything seemingly except the hole, he was a picture of frustration.

29 putts. One birdie putt that stopped almost 3 feet short. His injury being one thing that obviously is affecting him, but whispers amongst the masses suggest his breakdown at Winged Foot last year is still playing with his psyche. After tying for 46th at the Bridgestone and the start to the PGA, it looks as if Mickelson has some ways to go to regain his form. Until that time happens, his wrist won't be the only thing hurting.
