Ogilvy and Jimenez' 65s lead CA

mv6usopen19.jpg

Yeah, yeah, everyone is interested in Tiger Woods and if he can keep his streak alive. Yes, this is the first back-to-back event PGA wise in quite some time. Will it make a difference? Well, that's impossible to surmise at this point, but at the start of the CA Championship at Doral, he isn't leading.

That honor goes to co-leaders Geoff Ogilvy and Miguel Jimenez, who shot matching 65s to open the tournament. While many fear the back nine of the "Blue Monster", Ogilvy was given a lucky weather break when a fierce wind turned the scary 18th into putty in his hands. Ogilvy's round was bogey-free. Jimenez is making his debut at Doral, which is amazing considering how well he shot.

Woods did shoot a 67 and turned on classic Tiger until the last hole where he three-putted. He didn't play awful, but it was odd to see him go out like that. Of course, just like I said last week, one round doesn't make a tournament. Just as Ogilvy noted, "You know (Tiger) is going to be close going into the final nine holes."
