Oberholser's FedEx Run Over

A wrist injury can be nagging for many people, even if you aren't an athlete. For a golfer, it's excruciating; for Arron Oberholser, it meant dropping out of the BMW Championship and that he won't be going to East Lake for the final round of the FedEx Cup.

Oberholser, who tied for second last week at the Deutsche Bank Championship, is at No. 29 in the standings for the PGA Tour Playoffs. If no one else behind him does anything, he could still wind up in the top 30 and qualify for the Tour Championship. Either way, he won't be at the Tour Championship next week in Atlanta. It was clear after 8 holes of play that it was too much, and he simply walked off and withdrew before pushing it any longer.

He's going to need (at least) 3 weeks of physical therapy for three times a week, and his physicians have optimistically suggested that he should be ready to play by the Fall Series tournament in the Phoenix area that is six weeks away.
