Mickelson set to play Buick despite illness

pmickelson.jpg

Phil Mickelson has been ill with a respiratory illness, so much that it had kept him in bed for the past three days. In fact, he has been struggling with this type of issue since October. However, he is still set to play in the Buick Invitational this weekend. Mickelson has won the event three times.

This has been well publicized for a while now (Phil playing in the Buick, not the illness). It also has been publicized that Tiger Woods would be back, and do you think that Phil would miss a chance to have another classic showdown with Tiger? Of course not. However, even with all of the antibiotics, don't look for Phil to be "Vintage" Phil. He may come out guns blazing, but my guess is that with being sick, the grueling grind of the four rounds may take its toll come the weekend.

It's a good thing nonetheless that Phil will be playing--the PGA Tour really needs to have its big guns back and the Buick is a great chance to show this.
