Harmon bids adieu to Daly

John Daly could hit the ball a mile. He's been able to really make a name on the tour for years for his play on and off the course--and off the course, it's been more of an "off the blotter" situation more than anything else. So it should come as no surprise that Butch Harmon decided to call it quits as Daly's swing coach, the last straw being during the PODS championship when during a rain delay, Daly decided to go to the Hooters hospitality tent, where he came out with Tampa Bay football coach John Gruden as his coach; he also continued to drink after the round.

I don't blame Harmon for not wanting to be associated with this guy who makes a mockery of the game.

Sure, not everyone has to be "posh posh" and full of class every second of the day, but Daly's disrespect of the game is just too close for comfort. From his marital issues to his gambling problem even being discussed in a book, his long drive doesn't do much other than just bring out people to the driving range. If you are going to be in golf, John, stick to the long drive competitions, and leave the real game to the "professionals", and I mean that in more than one way.
