Ginn sur Mer Classic--Can Leonard take the title?

This week the PGA Tour travels to the Tesoro Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida for the first Ginn sur Mer Classic, the sixth of seven events in the PGA's Fall Series. The event will be held on the Arnold Palmer Course, a 7,381 yard, par-73 layout with two par-fives and just one par-three on the front nine and two par-fives and two par-threes on the back nine.

The favorite? Well, many are looking to Justin Leonard. Why? After having an awful 2006 and missing the first six cuts of 2007 (then eight of 12), Leonard suddenly regained form, shooting his way to four top-10 finishes, including a playoff win at the Valero Texas Open and a tie for sixth last week at the Fry's Electronics Open. If he plays as well this week, he should contend in this not-so-challenging field of entrants.

Plus, the course really plays to big hitters, as only eight other PGA Tour events this year have been played on longer courses. Leonard does not exactly fit into this "class", but he is solid all around, and while John Daly and other boomers may think they can take the title--it's not likely. Others have thought that Lucas Glover can maybe come out on top, but I think that Leonard should finish at least in the top 10--if not being the "man".
