Els decides to not play in Deutsche

Ernie Els has always been known as a "family man", but this week he's taking it to another level--instead of playing in the second round of the FedEx Cup playoffs in the Deutsche Bank Championships, he's going to be home with his family as his children prepare to go to school. (Cue big AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWE from crowd)

He has stated that he will return next week, when the Cup shifts play to the third event in Illinois and he will also participate in the PGA Tour Championship the following week.

"I have been on the road now for almost eight weeks and it is important that I return home where my children will be preparing for their return to school," Els said. "I regret having to miss such a prestigious and important tournament and I wish everybody there an enjoyable and successful week."

Good man, Ernie. You just moved up several pegs on my favorites list.
