Donald regains Honda lead

march1_donaldsi_372x400.jpg

Luke Donald started out smoking at the Honda Classic on Thursday. A bogey-free 64 sent him sailing into the lead at PGA National located in Florida, but suddenly it all came crashing down--on Friday, he carded a quadruple bogey--yup, you read that right. Falling out of the lead, many wondered if he was going to continue to fade.

But Donald is not that kind of player, and today, he came back with a 66 to tie Mark Calcavecchia, who also had problems of his own during the tournament (he whiffed a chip shot), along with Matt Jones, as they head into the final round at six under.

Donald talked about the course that has been playing with player's minds since the start: "There's a lot of danger out there. There's some very daunting shots, a lot of scary shots with a lot of water around. So you have to really stand up there and hit good, solid shots."

And that he has, going bogey-less with five birdies after his tragic quad over 22 holes. If you're betting on the final round, you gotta think Donald will keep up the momentum.
